Does anyone know how the electric Carburator heat system works in a Mod IV Kitfox. I want carb heat but I don't have room in the round cowl for anything extra.

    Hi Jay,

Have you looked into the hot coolant carb heat option? There is a short manifold block attached to the carb. It doesn't draw power like the electric one and is always working.

I just saw one of these coolant systems on an Airborne trike.
Looks quite compact and efficient. Rotax supplied system I believe.

The hot coolant system never draws power like an electrical carb heat system, doesn't make the carbs run richer because it isn't injecting any extra hot air and it doesn't need to be turned on because it is on all the time.

I have not heard anything but bad news from the owners of electric carb heaters.
Sadly I don't think the Kitfox 4 will have room for the water type heaters.
