In our part of the world we can only get blended fuel up to 20% Ethanol. Can the product Quickcare Fuel Treatment recommended by Mercury boat engines be used in a Rotax 912

    Hi David,
What part of the world do you live in?
So long as your fuel tanks and fuel lines are good with the ethanol the engine seems to handle it. There are places in the world that have up to 22% and have used it for years. Rotax has only tested 10% and that is what is in writing. I would be more wary of the additive over the ethanol. A distributor has torn down an engine with the high ethanol and it was okay.

I looked up Quick Care fuel treatment. It won't do anything for ethanol fuel. It's touted as more a cleaner.

    Hi Roger,
Many thanks for your reply. I live in Zimbabwe and we have about a hundred Rotax owners. The high percentage of Ethanol is a recent event resulting in much discussion and speculation as to the effect it will have on our engines.
