Hello and a merry christmasfor all.

I have a 912 ULS in a BRM and the engine runnings well, but still from the beginning, there was a problem with the cylinderheadtemperature "CHT " i have a new engine with the new position of the sensors. How colder it gets outside how higher is the temperature on the right side only. For example yesterday on the left CHT 75 C° and right up to 130 ° fast changing during changes of the Powerposition. Any suggestion??

Thanks

If you have the new heads the temperature measured on the sender in the cylinder head has been relabelled as "Coolant" and therefore the lower limit of 120C applies. See SB912-066 and EASA Safety Information Bulletin.

130C is high and I suggest you check your gauge calibration as it is potentially a gauge/wiring problem. Can you swap the wiring around so that the gauge that is currently measuring cylinder 2 can be connected to the sender on Cylinder 3 & vice versa.

Thx for the answer, this will be checked next time. For the information, the EGT from Cylinder 1 & 2 are around 720c° and from Cylinder 3 & 4 around 750 C°constantly. No difference between left and right. What m worried is the quick changing from 80 C°to 130 in 5 seconds and back! I checked the coolant fluid, it´s ok, everything works fine, only the CHT is funny.

If it goes from 80c to 130c that quick I would be looking at the electrical and connection side because the coolant won't react that quick. An air pocket can cause odd quick changes. Maybe worth a couple of minutes to double check.
