    Just wondering if you came up with a solution to your oil temp problem?
    I have a KitFox 7 new to me. And having the same problem. High oil temp, no oil pressure drop CHT are normal.

    no changed oil lines and oil again and still running 250 in normal 80 degree flight , if you find a answer please let me know thanks jim holloway jimsrepairs@live.com

    My best guess is you have an oil cooler restriction in the cooler, a bend in an oil hose that is slowing the flow or poor air flow over the cooler.

    Has the cooler been flushed with solvent and air pressure, are all hoses not in a sharp bend, and is there anything causing air flow issues over the cooler?

    If all oil lines are fairly straight and you know you have good air flow over the cooler then flush then remove the cooler and flush is really well in the reverse direction. I have seen 2 coolers with debris slowing flow. I have installed springs in oil hoses to keep them from getting a reduced radius when hot.


    You have to be missing something.I flew the other day when it was 95F out and climbed straight up to 7500' and never saw over 235F then in cruise it was 210F.

    I think I fixed mine. There is a upgrade for the kitfox S7. The original oil cooler was real small one ,mounted in front of engine and behind the propeller made by Earls.
    This comes out and replaced by one that is double the size of Earls and is mounted in front of coolant radiator. It comes in a kit you have to make the mounting brackets .This plane is new to me so I put all new hoses and 45 all the bends.
    I only got to do a short flight but a hard 4,000 ft climb didn't get oil temp to 200. I had total knee joint surgery the next day so i'm grounded.
    What kind of airplane do you fly? Maybe there is something out there for yours.
    I'm new to the experimental and I've only owned this for a month but learning a lot, it's nice to be able to work on your own stuff.
