hello...I have just installed a new fuel pump model 893115 on a CTLS Flight Design with the 912 ULS engine. I am wanting to know what the normal fuel pressures should be? At 5.5 psi indication at 4000 RPM (on ground) I get the warning display of high pressure. On the older Bing AC pumps, normal range was 2.2 to 7.2 psi. Any guidance is appreciated.

    Hi Richard,

I also have a Flight Design. When you installed the new pump did you change the high alarm settings in the Dynon? The old alarm settings were only 5.8. If not this needs to be done. Normal for most FD CT's is between 3.7-5.7.

thank you Roger, this is to be done. As well, after a 15 minute ground run to check for leaks in the lines before securing the firesleeve the jacket/housing on the fuel pump was very hot. I would not expect this even with heat transfer from the gear-box since fuel is going through the pump as the engine runs. Any thoughts, there are no noises etc from pump when engine running?

Ground runs can (not always) build extra heat at times because there isn't the forced air over the engine like it is flying. The prop alone does not produce that kind of air flow.

There is nothing wrong with a 5.5 - 5.8 fuel pressure with the new pump.

Roger.. I am new to CTLS ownership and the LSA... I have been searching to find the procedure for resetting the Dynon's fuel pressure ranges with no luck, one link on Dynon's site does not work... my unit has the 10" Skyviews SV-D1000, any suggestions to a link?...

    Hi Richard,

Call Flight Design Monday and gt the unlock code for the Dynon. Then go into the menu and just change it.
