My 912 has 95 hours. Less than 1 yr old.
Recently developed a small oil leak from the top of the oil reservoir near the IN oil line. It's not leaking at the hose connection to the reservoir.
The oil pools in the lip where the top band is located next to the IN oil line. I plan on taking the reservoir off this weekend to inspect.
Any ideas on what could be leaking?

    Only one of three things.
The fitting needs to be tighter on the tank,
The hose does leak under the clamp or
oil was accidentally spilled during an oil pour. (even if you didn't notice it)

I would clean the area really well and just keep an eye on it and try to find the exact cause. Pulling the tank may be a tad premature until you know what is going on. I doubt it is from the tank lid and then getting back on top and not all over the sides.

I have been watching the oil leak for the last 10 hours. The engine is on a Air Cam. Small amount of oil have been showing up on the flaps. I clean up the oil after each flight. The obvious source of the leak would be the connection between the hose and the tank. It looks like it is a compression fitting. No compression ring. I’ll thigten it down and see if that helps.
Maybe a small crack in the top where the IN line connects.
The only pool of oil I can find is on the lip of the tank between the IN connection and the top binding ring.
Am I correct that there is little to no pressure in this tank during operations?
Do you use Teflon tape on the fitting? I don’t, maybe I should.
It’s almost time for an oil change, so I will probably take the tank off and inspect it.

The tank is not pressurized. The fittings do not seal by the threads so no tape. They are a flared fitting with a metal to metal seal which should be just fine.

Check the caps. "Maybe" you're overfilling the oil level.....

I took the tank off and found the leak. The IN tube has a crack.
