hello,

i'm brad. i own and operate an Aeroprakt 22LS with a Rotax 912 ULS in beautiful Laos since January, 2018.

last Thursday, January 24th 2019, i experienced a partial engine failure on a cross country flight. i was able to make it back home on partial power and have determined that there is and issue with the #4 cylinder.

i have not done any disassembly as my engine is still be under warranty and i wish to make a claim with rotax. so for this post, i'm not seeking help to diagnose the problem. i just need a hand locating a certified mechanic in or near Laos.

so, i am wondering if anyone might know a certified rotax mechanic who may (or may not) be near Laos but, most of all, willing to come to Laos to help me with my investigation, repair and warranty claim?

according to flyrotax.com, the nearest dealer / distributor is Peiport in Hong Kong. but the list of the countries that they support does not include Laos... hmmm. i have written to them with no reply.

so, if anyone knows of a possible solution, i would be super grateful for any contact information or direction you can point me. thank you to everyone for your time consideration in helping me get my little airplane back in the air!

tailwinds,
brad dahm

The warranties are typically 200 hours of operating time or...
24 months from leaving the factory or...
18 months from leaving the distributor, whichever is shorter.

It is Not the number of months from the first time the engine was started!
Are you sure you are still under warranty?
I don't want to appear to be the Doom and Gloom guy but...

What is your engine's serial number and the number of hours on the engine?
The ADMIN here will be able to tell you if you still have time remaining.
