    Ian,

It depends on the filter. Most of my friends use the small clear plastic filter with stainless steel screen inside. They are easily cleaned with gasoline. The clear plastic filters with sintered bronze media can also be cleaned but there is no way to see how clean they are. I just soak mine in gasoline overnight and blow them out with compressed air.

    Ian,

If your filter is above the injector and the oil line to the injector is full of oil, you can probably squeeze the tubing and get the air out of the lines and filter. That's what I do. If you are not sure you can do this just run pre-mix. It might be an oil rich mix for a while when the injector starts pumping but it won't hurt anything.
