im working on a 503. we always had a reliable tiny tach.... and it still is. lately I hooked up an eis to the grey lead on the 503. the tiny tach and eis confirm rpms and are pretty accurate +-10-20 rpm... but when I climb at wot, the eis displays over 7500rpm -8000rpm while the tiny tach stays at about 6250. the eis goes from 6250rpm to 8000rpm without a change in engine sound... so I know the tiny tach is right.
what could cause an erratic read on the eis ?
it only happens at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE... otherwise both agree.
