On the last two flights in my Xair, the 582 (a couple of years old with only 22 hrs) performed faultlessly for over an hour until I was taxiing to the hangar. On both occasions the revs dropped at idle from 2200 to 1800 and when throttle was applied there was a considerable lag time before the revs kicked in. The engine also seems a little rougher and at times appeared to be "hunting". The first time it happened I thought it might be some sort of blockage so I dropped the fuel bowls on each carb and checked for anything. When I started the engine a week later she ran up beautifully with no sign of the previous problem and then flew well for over an hour. On returning to the hangar there was the problem again. Any ideas gratefully received?
