Hi,
is it possible to replace inner oil seals on 582 crankshaft?

Best regards,

I do not see why you could not.
The question is, who will be doing the work?

Download the 852 ILLUSTRATED PARTS CATALOG

    See page 7.3-2
Do you mean the O-Rings, or the Oil Seals?

    Edit:

On further consideration, if you are referring to the seals located between the connecting rods, then No.
While anything could be done with enough effort, unless there is a way to split the crankshaft without permanent damage, replacement of the crankshaft as a complete assembly would be required.

Why do you suspect the seals need replacement?

Thank you for the answer Bill.
    It was an informative question.
I would like to understand if the crank shaft can be splited to half, as a normal operation in order to replace these oil seals.
It is not that I have a proble. I jost wanted to know if it can be done.

    Best regards,

In as much as the crankshaft comes with the inner seals and bearing alread installed along with the connecting rods, and that none of these items are listed as available as replacement parts in the parts catalog, it would be safe to assume that the crankshaft is never intended to be disassembled.

It is either fit with heated/cooled parts and pressed together with huge forces in the 100's of Tons range, or it is welded together before final machining.

In either event, it would be highly unlikely that if it was possible to disassemble the crankshaft, you would ever have any chance of reassembling it within any reasonable alignment tolerance.

The cost in time and tooling would not be worth the effort.
