new exhaust

in 912 / 914 Technical Questions 10 months ago

new exhaust for my "legacy" 2016 500 TT 912ULS AmBuilt (by me) RV12

Vans $3100

Toucan Exhaust  $1295

Aeroweld  a little confusing but around $1200

 

I haven't heard of Toucan or Aeroweld, and all Vans could tell me is that it is better.

    hi Steven

    I see nobody gave you an answer.  One thing, the Toucan is a 2 into one, it is designed for high wing pusher generally where you can't fit a single 4 into one system.  I personally don't like that option for your RV12.  Aeroweld looks nice but unless someone has actually tested it and knows the back pressure you are only going on looks and price..  

    Read your installation manual and ask the supplier what is the back pressure when tested as per the Rotax specification.  Exhaust for the 80 HP are normally not suitable for the 100 as an example.
