914 parts manual, section 73-00-00, page 6, part #24, 66, 67.
I went to adjust the orientation of the Bent Tube Assembly #67, gently (I thought) tightened the nut #66, and the tube assembly came out of the housing. I turned the Bent Tube Assembly and it kinda/sorta tightens in place, and the nut kinda/sorta hold it there, but in reality it acts like I either stripped the threads in the Chamber Top #24, or the threads on the Bent Tube Assembly.
I've never really worked on engines before, unless you count my old '73 Bug using John Muir's How to Keep Your Volkswagon Alive 45 years ago, and I'm pretty pissed at myself, could have sworn I was barely torquing the nut, but... Oh well.
Any thoughts about how to proceed/troubleshoot? I closed up the shop as soon as it happened, I figure tomorrow I'll go in, get out my borescope and take a close look at the threads and do my "Dog looking at the tv" impersonation. Intellectually I know there's something called a Helicoil, but I've never used one and don't want to make it worse.
Thanks for listening.
