I suspect that my rectifier-regulator on my 912 ULS engine may be failing to recharge the EarthX lithium iron phosphate battery on my Aeroprakt A22LS flight trainer. I removed the rectifier-regulator and would like to use a multimeter to determine if it is functioning properly but am having trouble finding a reference source that explains the testing steps. Does anyone know of any references I may be able to use?
Best regards,
Paul

I've attached a couple of schematics of the regulator from some online sources. As you can see it is going to be difficult to check for faults just by making resistive measurements. You would need to perform a functional test that would require an AC source and a battery.

It is probably easier to diagnose on the plane. Have you got a voltmeter in the plane? If not you could use a multimeter. My regulator outputs about 14V with the engine running.
