What effect on a 914 , if fuel press. is 15 in.hg. higher then man. press at 5000 rpm
specs is max of 10 in. higher
can i lower the regulator press by unscrewing the adj. screw ? i lost the locking cap not long ago and refit another one , and i installed a dual press gauge at that moment , and i got these readings...

sinse then fuel press. is higher then specs and in flight i can feel the engine stumbling (yaa and pitch agravated) at 5K and 3K , at full fuel on take off its good

Would higher fuel press. do this ?

Regards

Too high a fuel pressure in any Rotax 4 stroke can cause flooding and poor fuel control and flow through the carbs, so yes it can be a problem.

Did the problem happen after you fitted the gauges or after you fitted the new locking cap or did you do both at the same time?

The problem is when i fitted the new cap , also the locking nut was loose ,had a little fuel seeping there,(the engine at that time had no full power ,it was stumbling at full fuel.) so i held the adjusting screw to that position assuming it was the right place when titning the jam nut and locking cap,no more fuel seeping and no more full fuel low power.

Yes i installed my dual int.man press/fuel press reg gauge, at that time.

should i try readjusting the adj.screw , if it is adjustable , turning it CCW should decrease press ,( is there any specs on how each 1/4 turn = in.Hg )

or replace the complete fuel press. reg

I tryed adjustin the reg. and no change at every 1/2 turn ,so I removed my complete intake system to inspect fuel press. reg . diaphragm is kind of dry and when i test it with vaccum , it doesnt hold ,,,,
i removed both carbs bowls and check float pins ,they are not parallel to each other ,bottom to top measurment has 3/16 difference ,,,,
I ordered 2 new bowls and a fuel press. reg.
DOES ANYONE SUPPLY ONLY DIAPHRAGM FOR THE MALPASSI FUEL PRESSUR REGULATOR , OR WE HAVE TO BUY THE COMPLETE UNIT....
best regards to all , i ll keep you posted with the changes...

Download the heavy maintenance manual there's a page that tells you how to set the fuel pressure. It looks very easy. I'd try that before buying a new regulator.

My 914 is 4417693 just after yours.
    Where are you?
