    Hi JIm,

I take it this is a 912? Can you be more specific about where it is leaking?
Make absolutely sure your oil is coming from the rear housing. Wind does funny things to just a few drops of oil at times and it could be coming from somewhere else. This has fooled many a pilot. I would clean everything and then double check first. If it's really coming from the rear housing then you will need to pull that apart and re-seal it.

    Hi Roger

Sorry I should have been more specific
912S 100hp I have had this thing stripped down 6 times now, each time I think
    I have cured it.
So far I have replaced the rear main oil seal twice,Re sealed the housing, fitted new o seal in joint.
Checked crank for out of round and crack tested casing.
Only thing I can think of now is if bush in casing is worn, giving me low oil pressure when hot and putting excess oil on to seal? How does that sound?

P.S. Oil is definately coming from inside rear housing at rate of 1 tablespoon per hour.

    Hi Jim,

How many hours on the engine?
You have covered the bases. If you have replaced the seals and sealed everything else then you may want to take a look at something on the shaft that has worn a grove or and edge that is causing the seals to leak. Maybe the new seal isn't in straight? I'm not sure here. Is it leaking around the shaft itself or from a mated case surface? Oil pressure tends to drop as the engine heats up. What is your oil pressure?

    Roger
440 Hrs I have not checked oil pressure yet with seperate gauge.
Shaft is smooth as. I have fitted 2 x seals neither of them wonky.
I believe seal has to be leaking,There is no where else!
This week I will fit a new bearing in to casing and 1 more seal!
I will let U know, after that????????????

Maybe the crankcase pressure is too high? you can check it with a common pressure gauge connected to a fitting installed in place of the lock pin bolt (machine a small hole in an long M8x1.5 bolt or allen screw, use locktite to seal a nut to the top of the threads, cut the head off and you have a fitting) see attached and SI-912-005 for more instructions.
