That after market HP upgrade has caused a few people to have problems. Some have reverted back to the original setup.

Thats what I have heard.I just got off the phone with the owner and I had him check in the engine log book for ser.# and he was reading about the install of the kit and it sounded like it was a rotax approved kit right from rotax, was there such a thing available from them does anyone know?

    Wayne,

If compression test shows no problem and water temps, cyl. head temps, and EGTs are all OK, You may just need an oil cooler to handle the extra heat from the additional HP.

Since you have no compensator tube, you might want to balance the carbs. One side running lean and hot could add to the problem.

Well we thought of that also but coming all the way from Texas and having no issues along the way we couldn't see a problem like that and the original owner said it never did heat.Is there a place where I can check the ser# to see what year it is,the number is 415-2168.

    Wayne,

I've never been able to figure out how to match serial number to year of manufacture. Perhaps roger can answer that one.
