Hello,

I have a 915is on my plane. Very powerful engine on the flight. But the oil pressure is low during the startup procedure. Oil pressure is dropping the 0.5 bar after the engine starts from 2 bar, step by step and waits here for 20-30 secs. After 20-30 seconds, it rises back to between 1.5-2 bars. The oil pressure is rising with the oil temperature. When the oil temperature is 50 °C, the oil pressure is 3 bar. I have been using this engine for 2 months so the ambient temperature is 1-2 °C when the engine start. All of this procedure, the engine is turning 1800 rpm.

    Just curious.

1800 rpm warm up is too low. Have you tried warming the engine up at 2500 rpm to see if there is a difference?

Hello Sir, Thank you for your answer,

I didn't increase the RPM when the oil pressure and temperature were too low. Do you think increasing RPM at these values is the right thing to do? And can ı increase the pressure via RPM?

Additionally, I didn't see this issue when the engine was hot. (I start the engine after shutdown) Could it be about oil temperature?

    Thank you again.
    Emre.

    Hi Emer,

It won't hurt a thing to warm up at 2500. Just try it and see what the pressure is after a few moments.

In the 912 series many have gone to 2500 to warm up.
