I'm confused as to how to attach the shielded wire to the ignition modules. I have prepared the wire by stripping the outer insulation off and pulling the center conductor thru the shield at the point that the outer insulation starts. Normally I would solder a wire to the shield to use to connect it to a ground point and cover where the shield comes off the wire with heat shrink. Is this correct?

Does the grommet just go over the center conductor or does it include the shield too? Seems like it would be too fat to go into the housing if I force it over the shielded area.

The new style blade connectors have three crimp positions (paragraph 17.3.4 of 912 Install Manual).

Obviously the first set of crimps go over the grommet. Do I strip the center conductor and crimp the bare wire in both the next two crimp positions or do I crimp the second position over the center insulation for mechanical strength and just crimp the bare center conductor with the inner most crimp? The last crimp ears are pretty short so I'm concerned about that being a good connection.

Rellated question, I'm using an ACS key ignition switch. It has three terminals, L, R and Ground. Do I connect the shields to the grounded instrument panel, the center conductors to L & R and the ground terminal to the grounded instrument panel similar to the Rotax drawing paragraph 17.3.4 Fig 73 and since the switch is mounted to the grounded instrument panel assume this conforms to the diagram?

Thanks
