Sealants used between carb and intake on 912UL?

What sealant is used between carb and intake? I noticed a clear (maybe slightly yellowish)sealant when I removed my carbs for rebuilding. The mating surfaces are cast aluminum and rubber on one side and cast aluminum to machined aluminum (air warmer) on the other end. Thanks for your thoughts, Doug

Hi Doug, No sealant is listed for the intake manifold/carb socket or between the carb and rubber socket contact surfaces.
What do you mean by air warmer? Maybe I am missing something?

Hi Rob, By air warmer I meant carb heat junction, where coolant circulates. An Allen holds it in place - to the carb. It's a sandwiched affair and there was some sealer there when I cleaned them. But, I can't find any reference for the sealer either. The sealer would prevent any air gaps I imagine.

That's Loctite 648. Don't use too much! See the instructions on the Skydrive.co.uk website
