    Roger,

    I will try and familiarize more myself on the starting and general operation of the engine, then take if from their.

    When the engine is cold (first start) it does not ''kick'' only when its hot and I need to restart..

    re the gearbox no it has 690hr and it's never been inspected. I only checked the Mag Plug and the metal was very well within limits.

    Hi Michael,

    On a hot start (no choke) with a low idle rpm then crack the throttle and if you have a high idle no throttle. Make sure you hold the key until you have a positive start. The starter will disengage automatically. If you let go too soon it might add to your kickback.

    On the gearbox side;
    What is the friction torque when you lock the crank and use a scale to pull the prop? Hopefully the reading is in the mid 400+ inch pounds. The higher the better. If you are down in the 300's it may be adding to the kickback.
    What fuel are you using? If you have a 1500 hr. TBO engine or use 100LL then the gearbox inspection is due at 600 hrs. And if you use 91 auto fuel and have a 2000 hr. Engine then it is due at 1000 hrs.

    Roger..

    I use normal mogas and according to my serial number the tbo is 15000 extended to 2000 with some mods...

    I think i saw a mistake in the last updated m/manual as its misleading it says 900 then it refers to the 700 hr check...or maybe i got this wrong myself ... I will check this tomorrow as i dint have with me the m manual..

    i will try the test of tge friction clutch wanted to test this anyway?
