Here is the question…

I Have a Pelican PL with a 914. T/C required me to remove the fuel filter and keep only the gascolator. Given that the Pelican PL has fibreglass fuel tank I feel like I should have a regular filter as well as the carbs seems to dislike particles that may be found in fibreglass tank. Should I go against T/C and put a filter or leave it alone with the gascolator only? what you guy's do?

    Hi Eric,

A standard gascolator has a 74-120 micron mesh screen (very fine). That should be enough. If you have the larger 74 micron mesh screen and want it finer then put in the finer 120 micron screen. Better to not go against the T/C.

Eric, make sure you check the 914 electric fuel pump inlet filters for fiberglass hairs. The Pelican was notorious for this problem... for the first 100hrs or so until fuel system cleaned itself out.
