Yes, its out of a cessna 340. as it goes to 75 inHg it can also be used to set the fuel pressure regulator on the 914.
and MAP gauge from a twin can be used. It beautiful because the needles are on the same axis so its easy to get the carbs perfect.

    Hi Ken,

The electronic sync instruments can split a hair during the sync, but that goes away when you take the instrument off and hook the carbs back up.

    With gauges:
You can tell which carb you want to adjust and by how much, tell which carb has a clogged idle or main jet, tell which carb is flooding, know before you even turn a screw if the cable on the throttle arm needs to be lengthened or shortened due to a larger split in vacuum you can see on the gauges. To me you can sync much quicker because you can see all this at a glance. As I turn an idle stop screw or the Bowden cable I can watch the needles come together.

    Roger,

Thank you for your input. Can you explain how you use the gauges to:

    (a) Tell which carb you want to adjust and by how much?
    (b) Tell which carb has a clogged idle or main jet?
    (c) Tell which carb (if any) is flooding?
    (d) Know if the cable on the throttle arm needs to be lengthened or shortened?

    Hi Sanford,

Here is an old article and a link to the Rotax online video. See if this helps.

    Roger,

I checked the attached links but still could not find how can you tell if you have a clogged main or idle jet just by looking at the gauges.
