Hello to everybody,
I'm a new entry in your forum.

I'm a Sinus motorglider pilot and would like to soar with engine off.
To do this I need two batteries: one for engine start, the other for gliding.

I'd like to install a switch in order to separate the batteries and choose the one to use for supplying energy to the panel.

The best solution could be having two completely separate batteries I can select either for engine start or gliding. This makes challenging to find out a switch able to manage heavy currents during engine start.

A second solution could be having a Main Battery for engine start (always wired to the starter) and an Aux for gliding only. This way the switch should only manage the instruments panel currents, no engine start current through the switch.
The Main is charged from the 912, The Aux will be charged in hangar via a wall mount charger.

Anyone can support me in this choice?
I'd like to have some help in electrical schematics modifications.
I'm particularly concerned about:
- currents coming out from 912 generator
- the Ducati rectifier wiring as I don't know his internal schematics and had read about burnouts for incorrect wirings ("C" connector).
- switch type and electrical dimensioning

Cordially
Paolo Bacco
