Rotax 912 parts export controlled now?
I just had a call from Aircraft Spruce; their rep said that because of the war in Ukraine, their usual supplier couldn't sell them oil filters unless they were absolutely certain that they weren't going to end up in drones. So they were out of stock, and if I wanted them to fulfill my order I'd have to agree to higher prices demanded by their other suppliers.
Reading between the lines, my worry now is that Rotax 912 engines now fall under ITAR or its equivalent elsewhere, and parts and supplies will be harder to get.
Does anybody here have any insight into this situation, and what it means for 912 operators in the US and elsewhere?
