Hi,

I have a 912 ULS mounted on a Tecnam eaglet, it developed oil leak at oil return tube-valve cover junction at 20 hours of service. The leak was corrected with a new oil return tube and loctite. Worked well for 100 hours but developed a small leak at same site. Should I check the studs of the cylinder head? Any other thing I should worry about other than replacing the oil return tube again and resealing the surface?

is it #2 cylinder or #4? Be very sure it is not residual oil from a previous oil filter change. Oil tends to blow up and gather in that area. Clean it really well (and around the oil filter) and do a short test run, repeat until you can detect the source of the leak. Don't go for a test flight, it will spray the oil around again making it hard to detect the source.

What loctite did they use? 648 is the best for sealing the tube.

Re-torquing the heads is not going to help and is not a good practice for the 912 series.

    What Rob said.
If you can't tell where the leak is then clean it and spray white Desenex foot powder spray all over the suspected area. I guarantee you'll see the leak. Then once found wash the foot spray off.
