Charge battery after 2500 rpm

Hello,

Ducati regulator. Engine ROTAX912S: 220 hours. Aircraft MCR ULC.

I have noticed that for some 50 hours now the battery will only be charged after 2500 rpm. :sick:

What could be the cause? The Ducati regulator or.................

Hi Jan.

I had this same problem last month. After checking my wiring with no results, I called Lockwood and was told the rectifier regulator was most likely the problem. I ordered a new one and problem solved. The replacement was quick and easy.

Having a low rpm with too much electrical draw can cause this. There may be nothing wrong with your VR. Don't throw your old VR away just yet.
