While taxiing back to my hangar yesterday after an hour flight, the engine suddenly just stopped. It re-started immediately within 1 revolution and all seemed normal. RPM was about 2000 at the time. I have also just noticed when flying that when I throttle back on base leg there is a slight vibration around 3200 rpm in the engine. Otherwise the 912 ULS runs great. Any thoughts?

    Terry,

Did it seem like it was starving for fuel, or did it just die like you turned off the mags?

    Terry,

I would check your ignition kill wires from the ignition modules back to the switch. If you have a rotary ignition switch I would suspect that is the culprit. I've never been a fan of rotary switches, too many parts that wear without a way to inspect them.

Do you have a rotary switch, or separate switches for each ignition circuit?

Thx. Kevin, I will check tomorrow. I have a Bully Hawk soft start installed with a separate push button for starting and don't use the standard key start switch. I just purchased this aircraft and I don't have a lot of time on it yet as I am learning all of the systems on the plane. You also posed another scenario that maybe it was a fuel problem. I would be interested in your reasoning as to why it might be fuel related and what would need to be done if in fact it was caused by fuel starvation. I don't think it was fuel related but it wouldn't be the first time I have been wrong.
