Cleaning Ducati Voltage Regulator with Multi-Pin Connectors?

Can folks suggest a good way of cleaning the contacts on these Ducati voltage regulators used on our 912's? After getting the plug out of the regulator (not easy for me) how do you get to the pins to give them a good cleaning? Would it be a good idea to also apply some dielectric grease prior to plugging in again?
