    Looking at my 912 installation,
The hoses for cylinders #1,2 and 4 pass through the Rotax Engine Mount support arms.
Only Cyl # 3, on the other side, passes around the mount.

The engine arrived in the factory crate already on the mount so the hoses were installed by Rotax to pass through the Engine mount after the engine was mounted.
This will require removing/cutting the hoses if I ever needed to dismount the engine.

Have you contacted other builders or the Kitfox Factory?
    It shouldn't be this difficult!

I've seen different Mfg's do it both ways. I don't think it's a big deal. They both work.

I decided to just try and get those hoses through the very limited and obstructed space in the Model IV mount. Its not the same mount as a Series 7 and the changes to the mount over the years have not noticeably changed the space available for hoses from the water pump to the coolant elbows. I"m just hoping that it doesn't become a weak point in reliability for me as I fly a lot and don't want to have more maintenance. Any ideas other than just taping, fire-sleeve and more taping.

I am not sure that fire sleeving on a water line is common practice...

    Essentially a Grommet in principal...
A 2-3 inch piece of scrap Water Hose, split the long way, and positioned around the engine mount, would ensure that all contact was Rubber to Rubber.
A Zip-Tie around both parts would dampen any relative motion caused by the engine vibration.

If there is not enough room for the Water Hose grommet, Fire Sleeving on the Engine mount might be the second option.

I see fire sleeve on coolant hoses all the time here for chafe protection and for heat shielding. I personally use it that way. We just split the fire sleeve up the middle and use plastic tie wraps. They stay there for the full 5 years without any issues.
