Not sure I'm on the right place for this but I thought I would share something. I have a cavalon gyrocopter with a 914 in it. It seems that I was blowing oil all over the tail fin in flight. But on the ground I could find no leak. I cleaned the engine compartment up and tried running it on the ground but no luck. Time and time again. It was only until I ran it up to about 4500 RPM that I discovered the O-ring on the turbo sump was leaking. Just FYI.

Hi Jeff, watch the video on the turbo oil system, you will discover why it does this. Mine did at first, then I re-seated the ball bearing in the oil check valve, and haven't had any leaks since then (about three years).

Thanks, I also replaced the brass washers on the oil lines under the oil pump, but I do not know how to find the torque on the banjo bolts.

Look in the Heavy Maintenance Manual. See section 79-00-00
