It is common in the European Market to install after mufflers.
Some countries, Germany in particular, structure their registration fees in part by the sound level produced by the aircraft.
The quieter the aircraft, the lower the fee.
Autogyro (Germany) ships their kits with 912ULS Engines with after mufflers welded in place.
I do not know if they do the same with the 914 engines.

Inspection of the After Muffler reveals that it is a Thru-Tube Glass-Pack style of muffler.
It is essentially an exhaust extension pipe.
It will produce a very minimal amount of Back Pressure.

    You have an Experimental Aircraft.
This is exactly what they are made for!

    Let us know the results.
