I have an older 912UL with around 300 hours on it. I've been having trouble starting. Sometimes it starts with just a couple of cranks and sometimes it is just dead. I have checked all the gaps, plugs and triggers and double checked the carbs - in fact I did find I had reassembled one of the chokes upside down when I overhauled the carbs and thought maybe that was the issue. Having replaced the carbs it all started fine. I came back another day and balanced the carbs, again it started after a few cranks. Tonight, I tried to go flying and nothing, just cranks and cranks. One thing I do notice when it is not starting, I do not get any tacho reading on my EMS. I'm pretty sure that normally I see close to 300 rpm while I'm cranking. Is this a clue as to what might be the issue? Any suggestions as to what to check would be appreciated as I'm wanting to do my ADS-B rebate flight and time is running out. Thanks.
