Good afternoon Ladies and gentlemen

Just developed a problem on my last flight this am.

Oil temperature was at 92C before alarming at 122C then immediately dropping back down to 90C. 20 min. later it alarmed at 224C for one sec. then back to 95C. Later on it alarmed at 240C for a second then 140C then 122C then back to normal. I am grounding my self until I trouble shoot this problem. I suspect a sensor or wiring failure.

I welcome all feed back

Thank you in advance

Gino

Either a loose connector on the sensor. You can sqeeze it with a pair of pliers to tighten or it's a loose wire / connection on that sender circuit.

The wiring connection to the "Temperature Sensor" is solid, not spliced. I took the shrink tube off to view this. I wriggled the temp. sensor wiring and did not get temp. variation or temp alarm. See photo

At the other end of the wire, the white and red wires go into the Brauniger AlphaMfd
flight computer. Not sure how to unplug these connections. See photo
Its possible the lose wire is in the plug connection!
Question:If I wish to remove the Oil pressure sensor do I need to drain the engine oil?
    Any additional inputs are welcomed?

There is no need to drain the Oil.
All the Oil is in the Oil Tank, Not the engine.
Expect a dribble of Oil, but nothing major.

While you are at it, You Oil supply hoses look to be undersized.
The installation manual calls for AN8 (12mm ID) hose.

Hey Bill, I believe that's his temp sendor like we usually don't see. I don't think it's his oil hose.

The sendor may be going bad, but you may also have a bad ground for the oil temp gauge or just a bad wire connection. Like Bill said you don't need to dump the oil. Some will drool out, but not that much.

The connectors look like you need a screwdriver and loosen the screw on the side holes that would allow you to pull the wire up and out.
