Roger,
You're correct! The Oil port is on the Bottom Left.
I couldn't understand how a hose that small could have ever worked in the first place!
A sender with a crimped on cable is a new one to me.

If there isn't a screw to loosen on the connector, the other option would be to push in on the tabs in the holes next to the wires.
The wires should be able to be removed or inserted as long as you are holding the tabs down.
