That’s good news.  When Rich puts in the new regulator he should replace the connectors on the yellow wires coming from the alternator.  Once they have been hot like that they lose their shape and tension and will continue to cause problems.  Maybe also talk to rich about adding the second alternator.

Regulator came. Installed it and got a low Voltage error

double check the connections and one yellow wire pushed out when I installed. Those things are PITA to get aligned.

when I fixed that I saw what I needed!  VOLTAGE

    thanks everyone

I'm glad to hear that you've fixed it. If the crimps are coming out of the plug housing then it is oftern that the tabs that hold the crimps in place are broken. It can be either the barb on the crimp or the plastic in the housing that is damaged. Sometimes they are just not pushed right in until they lock in place.

not sure, i tried to reinstall and now pulling on the wire they don't come out. I might put a dap of RTV on the wire/housing so it can't pull-out for the two yellow wires. I ordered a spare regulator so in the future, I might replace the whole plug.
