    Hi Freerk,

The carbs may balance, (I'm taking for granted the throttle lever arms open fully) but you still might have a fuel flow issue upstream or maybe the prop pitch is just too course. It seems like it has to be one one or the other or a combo of both.

Reaching a little at straws here.

    Hi Roger

    Thanks for the fast reply.

The carbs are balanced, the throtlle lever opens fully, and we checked the fuel flow which seem to be enough. The prop pitch has been checked and is still the same as the original setting.

So we still don't know where to go futher.

    with regards

All else being apparently OK, is it possible that the tachometer is malfunctioning?

First thing, does it fly like it's getting reduced power? Did this loss of power happen in flight or you just came out one day and got a lower tach reading? It is possible to have a bad tach. Try another and double check.

Another really remote possibility might be the soft start (if you have it). If it does not advance the spark after a few seconds, one or both mags will continue to fire at near top dead center. Result being greatly reduced power and RPMs. Never seen this happen but I'm running out of ideas.
