Fuel pump assembly usable?

The opportunity to purchase the fuel pump retrofit kit part #481377 came to my attention while I was looking into replacing my fuel pump assembly. This kit was listed as the second option in the ASB for repair and was available for a limited time. Would the use of this kit to replace the fuel pumps in my pump assembly still be an acceptable way or repairing the assembly without going to the new style pumps? It would save me a considerable amount of money if it would work. The kit includes the 2 replacement pumps part #889691. I’m assuming there are still people running the original pumps assembly without these kits fitted. Thanks
