I'm trying to come up with alternatives to the Stock Flight Display unit for the 912is. It's needlessly expensive IMO...unless I'm missing something. Dynon and MGL both have alternatives with Dynon being around $1100 and MGL being around $300 (I have no idea why the large difference) but I have never actually seen what the display looks like.

Is everyone using Stock Flight? Anyone using Dynon or MGL and have pics of the display? Any other alternatives?

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Don...

We have installed a couple of the Stock EMS's and really like them. Some features we like:
Nice to have a stand-alone engine instrument, makes for a easy panel scan.
Low fuel sensor for header tank. Gives pilot warning in red letters and aural warning (if equipped with header tank and sensor)
    Fuel pressure sensor.
“Change fuel filter” warning. Using the fuel pressure sensor this EMU calculates when the fuel filter is getting plugged.
Throttle position display to advise pilot of ideal throttle position to start engine.
Start relay feature to eliminate the cumbersome ECU energize/start switch.
Easy to update software with supplied SD memory card.
EMDS software (Engine Management Debriefing Station) is free for EMU owners. Great for analyzing your engine runs on your PC, Mac or Linux. Also has Google earth mapping to see when/where engine events took place.
Stock flight systems is the originator of the CAN Aerospace technology and has been working with Rotax for many years so you get a great resource and tech support.

    Rob,

Thanks for the input...I do like the Stock flight system...but the price seems really high compared to other well known EMS systems. I am hoping that the Dynon or MGL options/displays will give the same results...although it sounds like you're really happy with it.

I now see Lockwood is selling an "Integra " unit for $3800.

Its actually hard to find the Stock unit for sale.

Rob where did you buy yours? Thanks.

Dynon Skyview has been doing just fine with the 912is engine. Flight Design uses them exclusively for that engine.
