Dear:
Yestarday I had put out my Magnetic Plug from Gearbox and I have found a metalic part with 4mm long.

My engine have 145 hours and update (912iS to 912iS Sport) the gearbox with 80 hours.
I´m very worry about it.
I get out the oil filter and I have not metalic parts inside.

Please any suggetions.

    Hi AFRANIO,

Pretty good size piece of metal. Maybe if you give Rob his close up he can figure it out. Looks like you may be pulling the gearbox and looking inside.

I used a pair of binoculars and had a little better look at the object. Maybe it is a piece of the phenolic thrust washer? sometimes they get caught on the splines when you reassemble the gearbox. The sport upgrade includes installing a new clutch so this is a likely explanation.

I have seen a number of these types of chips on gear sets over the years, but they have been considered to be as a result of a prop strike.
I have also had shafts chipping on the spline just above the ring halves.

Looks like it will be a new gear set required. I hope you get it resolved soon.
