    Second thought,
how accurate is your method of checking ? ie is your "dipstick" accurate ?. When my aircraft arrived my LAME spent hours with accurate fuel jugs creating an accurate stick, checking the plane was level, checking unusable etc.

I have found the stick and G#X to agree withing 2-3% over a year with multiple tests.

Doing this as i am looking at long flights over the Pacific and do not want to land beside Amelia's plane !!

    Thanks for the feedback.

Firstly, unfortunately you can't adjust the 'k' value for this as it's Rotax data and is just displayed and aggregated by the Garmin is as it is and unadjustable (unlike any other sensors you add).

My method of checking the actual quantity used is very accurate. I fill the tanks to the top, then reset the Garmin 'fuel used' option. Then -after some flights - I refill the tanks at calibrated 5 litre pours (from a properly calibrated container) back to full and compare against the figure I retrieved from the Garmin.

Whether I have used around 20 litres or 90 litres, the error is about the same percentage, which I am sure means it is not a leak from the tank vents (as they wouldn't leak when the tanks are only partially full..

I am nearly positive I am not losing any fuel as I have filled both tanks, used only one for flight, then landed and opened the unused tank and it is still full. I will however do this text again on both sides.

Does anyone have a G3X flight data file they could email me as I just want to check a few values against mine at different power settings. My email is ianwatt72 at gmail dot com.

    Hi Ian,
I will look into getting one, may be a few days away from my plane at present.

Clearly you are measuring the fuel very accurately !

Yes, I have about 110 hours on my engine and I have also found the fuel burn measurements to be on the optimistic side. I have not done fully scientific calculations but would estimate around 10% also. I also have the Garmin G3X Touch instrumentation. Thanks for pointing this out and I will interested to see if anything can be done about it.
    Cheers,
    Joe

Most digital instruments allow you to bias the fuel accuracy setup. Look in setup under the fuel sensor and see if yours allows this. Then just bias it to be more on target.
