Lane B light on take off.

Sling TSi 100 hrs, been flying well never had any lane lights in flight. Now, in the last few flights I've been getting a Lane B light coming up on take off / climb out. Recycling 'fixes ' it for the rest of the flight. The FADEC info reports advisory oil sensor temperature fault (screenshot attcahed). Anyone else seen this, any ideas?

    Check all the plugs and connections on the engine. Check the connectors on the ECU and fuse box. Many times it's just vibration that causes a momentary glitch.

    Check all the plugs and connections on the engine. Check the connectors on the ECU and fuse box. Many times it's just vibration that causes a momentary glitch. I had this issue for a while on a Flight Design CTLSi and it ended up being one of the plugs connectors on the ECU. Disconnected each one, checked for any arcing issues in the pins, applied some dielectric grease to the ends and the problem was solved.

    Peter,

    When checking connections as Roger suggests, don’t disconnect the three latching connectors at the ECU unless you believe it’s necessary, and other connections have been checked first.  I suggest this because the life of each ECU connector is limited to 20 latch/unlatch cycles.  If you do disconnect one or all of them you need to make a logbook entry to keep track of how many times each has been removed.  In addition, Rotax recommends you place a label at each connector indicating the number of time it’s been removed, and update these labels each time a connector is unplugged.  

    Rotax does not recommend dielectric grease on the ECU connectors, but instead recommends a light coat of Deoxit, and only when necessary.  Deoxit is a unique product that dissolves oxidation and leaves a protective coating.  This is often used for electronic connections and I know of no substitute.  Most of the other connections on the engine are OK for use with dielectric grease, just not the ECU.

    I got the ECU connection plug check and the dielectric grease idea direct from a Rotax service center, It seemed to work. Removing those connectors 20 times in a life time would be a lot. I doubt the majority won't do it more than once or twice ever. Normally there isn't a reason to do so.

    Your fuel pressure for that throttle position/manifold pressure looks low. It's possible that when you're at take off or climb out that your lane light is due to low fuel pressure.

     

    I recommend you check/change your fine filter. Do you have the required bypass check valve around the fine filter?

     

    My fuel pressure at that setting is 52#
