Since it's removal this engine has been stored inside the ROTAX box that the new engine arrived in. We had Lockwood completely overhaul the four heads to use as back-up and they are still in the Lockwood packaging with the log book entry. Never needed them as usual. We have never had a mechanical issue with ANY ROTAX 912 ULS engine ever except a couple of CDI boxes over 17 years of flying these amazing engines.
Here’s the last 100 hour condition inspection entry done July 2011:
"Performed full inspection of engine. Changed oil. Repl with 3L Mobil 1 4T Racing 10W40. Inst new Rotax oil filter. Old filter cut and found no debris. Magnetic plug checked and found minimal debris. Warm idle speed 1950 rpm. Mech synch checked OK. Air filters cleaned. Repl 8 spark plugs with new NGK DCPR7E. Ignition RPM drop Circuit A 160rpm Circuit B 160 rpm. Diff Comp 1) 86/87, 2) 81/87, 3) 84/87, 4) 86/87. Repl #1 cyl top spark plug cap with new. Carb disassembly and inspection. Repl fuel line from pump to T. I certify this engine has been inspected with Rotax’s inspection checklist and is in a condition for safe operation."
We removed it 9/27/2011 at 1494.2 hours.
This engine & gear box does not include carbs. I have a couple of CDI boxes on the shelf that I can include. This does not include an exhaust system but I do have some used exhaust components I can include. I have an oil sump I can include as well. It is a new one that came with the new engine but the plumbing did not match our system so we used the original one. I will box it up free for shipping and the final price can be reduced to cover shipping charges.
