    Maybe the moisture and the salty air chould be cause. I also learned about anti size. Further i also will apply this.

    500ft beach run - jogging or really touch and go?

    I always tell folks not to over tighten these two screws or use a thread locker. Your anti-seize idea should be fine. You could also use for this small project nickel anti-seize.

    Were the screws standard #2 Phillips or perhaps JIS that take the JIS driver tip. 

    I've added JIS to my tool kit

    And second on 242 treadlocker (blue)

    Just change them out to Allen key head - no chance of making a driver mistake, combined with greater torque delivery.😈
