Gentlemen,

I have a aircraft fitted with a 80BHP Rotax and an old Flydat on it..

All reading (RPM, EGT, CHT Etc....) are working and all wires are properly connected to where the should be. The Hobbs reading is blinking and I cannot seem to get a reading and the number of hours.. Is there anything that I am missing and that I can check out other than the wires?

Please let me know.

Tks Andre'

    You need to remove the plug from the flydat unt where it conects to the control box or { computor}
    You then need to spry contact cleaner into the plug and the female plug end of the unit and slowley ond gently clean them with a small brass wire brush

    I have had this problem before and Wally from the Rotex dealer out here in Australia informed me that I should do this every Hrs to make sure that the pins make contact properly
    As soon as I did this all went back to normal

    Hope this helps you
    Regards

    Hi Andre,

    Here in the US I don't get much exposure to the FlyDat and so I'm not a good source of info. I'm sure others here will jump in and help you. Sorry I couldn't help.
