Rotax 912 water pump failure

Hi to all,
A friend of mine suffered a water pump failure. He lost all of the cooling liquid in seconds, leading to cht's of more that 150 °C!!!
Luckily he was not far from the airstrip and landed safely. We took off the cowling and quickly found a large crack on the water pump housing.
After taking off the water pump housing we found out that a piece of wire from a flexible hose came loose and was responsible for the damage.
Take precautions if using this type of water hose.
