E-box cold starting problem

Hello All,
New to this site and looking for some help, I have a 582 blue head with an E-box that I am using on an airboat application for ice fishing up here in Canada. Everything works great but i am having trouble with the electric start in extreme cold conditions (-5C--20C). The solonoid works and the starter will spin when i hit the key but the prop does not spin, if i wiggle the prop back and forth and hit the key again most times it engages and spins the prop but in very extreme conditions this cbecome more frequesnt to a point we sometimes have to pull start. After the motor has been warmed up, it can be shut down and can be started multiple time with any problems. Using 850 CCA car battery, amsoil syn. gear lube was tested in the freezr and is thinner than regular...Let me know your thoughts, all input would be appreciated!!!
