My previous thread was locked, so starting another. I originally posted the following 4 months ago:

I have just purchased a new aircraft with a new 912ULS. I have seen:
legacy.rotaxowner.com/si_tb_info/serviceb/sb-912-065ul.pdf and am subject to these inspections. My questions are as follows:

1. Any update on new floats to fix this problem to stop the 25 hour inspections?
2. Would these inspections be covered by the new engine warranty? and if so, how would I claim this?
3. Will replacing the floats be covered by warranty?

I must say, that for those not under warranty, Rotax should step up and fix the float problem at Rotax's expense.

Duane

A new SB has been issued that to my understanding will end the 25 hour inspections. Problem is that the new SB requires that the floats must be changed out;

"Carry out this exchange of the floats on the engines listed in section 1.1., according to the instructions in section 3 at the next BRP maintenance event or within the next 25 hours of operation, but at the latest after 60 days (from the date of the initial issue of this Service Bulletin)."

So, we get at the most 25 hours or 60 days (April 28) to make the exchange.
Problem is that there has been no announcement of float avaibility.
SB also stated tho old floats must be returned at customer's expense

You're kidding right? Several recent threads address these things.

Some new floats are shipping to customers today.

I hope this cuts down on the whine factor.......

Did I miss the announcement that the floats were shipping? If so, I apologize. I called Bing today and they stated that they had not had any floats delivered to them. Perhaps Lockwood or another supplier will get them first.

Whine Factor......... Four months of 25 hour inspections, was a pain the behind. 12 hours of flying for inspections due to the SB's. No updates from Rotax on the situation. Excuse me

Please make an effort to be civil. There's no reason to make jabs Mr Rigotti. I am trying to make sense of all this as well as Duane and many others.

We have confirmation that replacement floats are indeed already shipping from ROTAX to distributors worldwide. Actual availability at the various dealers will depend on factors outside of the control of ROTAX (customs clearance, etc). But I expect there should be widespread availability by the middle of this month.

In the meantime, all affected parties should get their requests in.

We've detailed the proper request procedure in this new BLOG POST

I was able to obtain the floats. I ordered from several sources as I needed to get the floats replaced by the 25 hour mark and I was planning to making a longish cross country to Sun n Fun.
