Rebuild

:( In searching places to get help with my engine not starting, I happened upon a posting somewhere can't remember exactly. It stated that they would never trust a rebuilt Rotax engine that they would suggest , highly, to buy a new block instead. Is this old news everyone knows and accepts? I have never heard of an engine should not be rebuilt, is this only true of Rotax or just a load of crap. If true why should you not rebuild one? Thanks

My 582 was rebuilt twice. I'd say that is generally untrue. Rebuilding is basically replacing parts inside that are old like seals, and metal parts that have worn down and are smaller than they should be. A rebuild makes it better than it was before. If the engine case is cracked or bent out of shape, that should be found during a rebuild.
