I have a couple of questions regarding information released by Rotax on the new 915iS engine. I am unable to decode aspects of their press release regarding fuel specification and power.

First question: Why do the following two lines appear, one atop the other?

    min. MON 85 RON 95 AKI 91
    min. MON 88 RON 98 AKI 93

This makes no sense to me. How can the min. AKI be 93 when the line directly above it says min. AKI is 91.

Second question: There is a single asterisk after 135hp and if you look below you find this line:

    *@RON 98

Are they suggesting that the hp output would be less than 135hp if one used RON 95? Would this in turn suggest that with 100LL the hp output would be more than 135hp? That doesn't make sense. The only thing I can figure is that maybe there is a compression lowering kit that is installed if you want to burn 91AKI. Or maybe they can de-tune it for lower octane via the ECU? Any ideas?

You can view the actual press release here: http://www.rotax-owner.com/en/rotax-blog/item/43-915is

Detuning via flicking a switch to run 91 would be an interesting option.
Quite possible with the ecu lowering turbo boost?
